"Oh Baby, Baby It's a wild world, and I'll always remember you like a child, girl" -Cat Stevens

So as it turns out, people actually read this thing! Pretty exciting stuff.

If you've read my blog before, you'll know I'm more into audio/ installation stuff as opposed to 2-D, but I am in a graphic narrative (comic books, essentially) class this semester and realized I haven't posted any of my work from it. The main project that we have been working on for most of the semester is a 24-page comic book, which was created over 24 hours (a cool experience, but not one I'd ever want to repeat.) I'm currently in the process of adding pen and ink, refining the sketches, etc, but I will definitely post pictures of my favorite pages when it's done.

Anyways, below is my first attempt at inking. The assignment was to draw ourselves over 70 and less than 4 years old. I have some other cool assignments already scanned from this class, but I'm going to try to spread them out since I won't have much new work between now and the end of the semester until I finish my final projects (stay tuned for those!)

As a side note, if you haven't been clicking the links, please do! They are not ads, and I personally think they are the best part of this blog.

Happy Thanksgiving!

"I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I shall be sober, and you will still be ugly." -Winston Churchill

Okay, so I'm not sure if the quote actually fits the post this time, but it's one of my all-time faves, so make it work.

Recently, I did a project for CFC about sex in advertisements, and how it's gotten just a tad out of hand. I mean, sex can be an effective advertising tool, but there should be a line, right? This is basically a response to that issue, and I think they are pretty self-explanatory.

Acrylics, Colored Pencil, Sharpie.

Enjoy!

Also, I just finished my first commissioned work! I will be posting pictures early December when it is released to the public. So excited!

Thanks for dropping by.

"Trust is the easiest thing in the world to loose, and the hardest thing in the world to get back." -R. Williams

Hi Gang,

This is a film I did for TMP. It is kind of a practice round for a longer piece I will be finishing in December. It's my first film, and very experimental. I really enjoy this stuff, so I hope you do too! It will be going in the 2010 All-Student Exhibition, so that's pretty exciting as well.

The piece is about faith, trust, and searching. The film is also an abstract representation of personal experience, as is the sound. In other words, let me know if you have questions. Also, I really like feedback so feel free to comment with some (this goes for all of my posts!)

Best,
Eli

"When hearts are high then time will fly; whistle while you work"-Larry Morey (Snow White)

Four followers now, oh boy!

Exciting news: I finally decided what I like to do best in art! Sound, film, installation work, and performance. Ok, so it's actually still a number of things, but at least I've narrowed it down from "a little of everything." If I had to give it a genre, I would say time-based media.

So, in the spirit of reaching that decision, enjoy this short sound piece I made for my Tools, Materials, and Processes class. It's not like most of my sound work (which tends to be more experimental), but it's pretty fun. :)

Ps. I have a few projects I'm really excited about in the works, so stay tuned for updates on those!
